RIVERSIDE--- The Western Athletic Conference announced its 2024-2025 men's basketball schedule on Monday afternoon, with California Baptist University set to play 16 conference games in the new year.
The Lancers will play its eight conference foes twice, with home-and-away matchups set between early January and early March. CBU will open up conference play against the Seattle U Redhawks at home in January before heading out on a three-game road trip that will see them take on Utah Valley, Tarleton, and Abilene Christian in succession.
CBU will have a three-game homestand in the middle of the conference schedule, with critical matchups against Abilene Christian, Southern Utah, and reigning WAC Champion Grand Canyon. The Lancers will finish the regular season with a two-game homestand as they welcome in Tarleton and UT Arlington to the Dale E. & Sarah Ann Fowler Events Center on March 6 and 8.
The Lancers finished 8-12 in conference play last season and 8th overall in the conference standings. Their 8th-place finish earned them a spot in the WAC Tournament, where they bested fifth-seeded Utah Valley in overtime before falling to Seattle U in overtime of the Quarterfinals. Senior guard Dominique Daniels Jr. missed the final ten games of the season with a knee injury but will be back to lead the Lancers in the new campaign. Daniels was the second-leading scorer in the conference a year ago despite missing the final stretch of the season and was awarded Second-Team All-WAC honors.
