Lancers Finish First Competition of Fall Season

ANNAPOLIS, MD--- The California Baptist men's golf team opened their season on the East Coast this weekend at The Navy Invitational and finished 11th of 16 teams. Sean Citherlet posted the most impressive performance for the Lancers, finishing 12th out of 84 golfers.

Citherlet kicked off the first official tournament of the season by going low in the first round, carding a 68 through the first 18. The senior continued with a solid pace and posted a 72 (+1) during the second round before ending Sunday morning with a 3-over-par final round to solidify 12th place. Derek Lekkerkerk competed for the first time as a Lancer this weekend and held his own after a decent start. His lowest round of the weekend came during the second set of 18, posting a 72 and finishing in 25th. Jared Abercrombie ended in 52nd, Eeli Kujanpää finished in 61st, and Lorenzo Lombardozzi came in 73rd.

Head Coach TL Brown's squad will now turn their attention to mid-October, where they will compete in the Visit Stockton Invitational from the 14th through the 16th.
