CBU Cards Top 10 Finish in Stockton

STOCKTON, CA--- The California Baptist men's golf program traveled north to Stockton, California, over the weekend to compete in the Visit Stockton Invitational. The Lancers finished seventh of 17 programs as Jared Abercrombie secured a ninth-place individual finish for CBU.
Abercrombie jumped out to an impressive start from the very first round, shooting 70 through his first 18 holes. Both Andy Yang and Lorenzo Lombardozzi were not far behind after scoring 1-over on the first day. It was Yang who impressed during the second round of the tournament, after the sophomore shot a 68. Abercrombie finished the second round with a 69 while Lombardozzi finished 2-under.
Abercrombie kept his consistency through the final round and finished with a 71 for a ninth-place finish of 96 golfers. Yang finished in 26th, Lombardozzi finished in 34th, and Ka'ena Kaulia ended in 70th, with Bryden Brown not far behind in 76th.
California Baptist averaged the most par 3s throughout the tournament, while Abercrombie tied for second for the most individual par 3s.
TL Brown's squad will now turn its attention to later this week as they head to Salem, Oregon, to compete in the Oregon State Invitational.
