
CBU Comepetes at the GCU Invitational

PHOENIX, AZ--- The California Baptist men's golf program returned to Arizona this week to participate in the GCU Invitational hosted by Grand Canyon. CBU faired well during the tournament, placing in the top 10 of the 18 program field, as Jared Abercrombie carded the best finish for the Lancers after tying for 24th of 100 golfers.
Eeli Kujanpaa led the first day with the lowest score after shooting 2-under par, finishing tied for 32nd. Just behind was Sean Citherlet, whose best rounds came during the first and second after scoring 72 on the par 71 course. Bryden Brown checked in tied for 68th, while Lorenzo Lombardozzi finished tied for 83rd.
Abercrombie's 24th-place finish came behind three solid rounds, with his best capping off the tournament for a total score of 216. The freshman totaled one eagle and six birdies in the desert, posting a total of 37 pars. Citherlet and Kujanpaa led the way with nine birdies apiece at GCU Golf Course.
CBU will begin preparing for the Triton Invitational in San Diego hosted by UC San Diego from March 23rd through March 25th.
