RIVERSIDE – CBU women's golf travels to Arkansas this weekend to compete in the Diamante Intercollegiate, where the Lancers have finished in the top five in three of their last four appearances, with this year's tournament running Sunday through Tuesday, Oct. 18-20.
CBU won the tournament in 2023 and placed fifth in 2024 before finishing ninth in 2025 against a competitive field. The Lancers have also found individual success at Diamante Country Club. Junior Lisa Shimmon set the program's 36-hole scoring record with a 136 (-8) in 2024. Several other top-10 program records have been set at the course, including the four lowest 36-hole totals by CBU golfers, recorded by Shimmon, Samantha Dizon, senior Pusanisa Ekkantrong and senior Damini Law Ghanshyani.
The Lancers have carried that success into the 2026-27 season, finishing fifth in each of their first two tournaments. Sophomore Shuyi Cao has led CBU in both events, tying for 14th at the season-opening tournament in Montana at 7-over par before finishing in the top 10 at 1-over par in Washington.
Team captain Ekkantrong has also continued to find her rhythm as the season progresses, helping strengthen the Lancers' lineup heading into the weekend.
CBU looks to build on its strong start at a course where it has enjoyed considerable success. The five-player lineup remains largely unchanged, with one exception: freshman Crista Miñoza will make her CBU tournament debut.
