Lancers Sit Fifth After Round One in Arkansas

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. – CBU women's golf sits in fifth place after the opening round of the Diamante Intercollegiate, with senior Pusanisa Ekkantrong and sophomore Shuyi Cao leading the Lancers individually.
Ekkantrong and Cao are tied for 16th individually after both carded one-under-par rounds. Junior Lisa Shimmon follows closely behind, finishing the day at even par to sit tied for 28th.
Senior Burberry Zhang carded a one-over-par round, while freshman Crista Miñoza made her collegiate debut, finishing 11-over par.
As a team, the Lancers sit fifth out of 20 teams with a collective score of one-under par. The tournament features more than 100 individual competitors.
CBU sits just two strokes behind Little Rock and Arkansas State and will look to close the gap in tomorrow's second round. The Lancers return to the course for Round 2 of the three-round tournament, with tee times running from 8 a.m. to noon CT.
