CBU Climbs to Fourth After Strong Second Round in Hot Springs Village

HOT SPRINGS VILLAGE, Ark. – The Lancers moved into a tie for fourth place in the team standings after strong second-round performances from senior Burberry Zhang and junior Lisa Shimmon.
Zhang and Shimmon both delivered impressive rounds, with Zhang shooting 3-under-par and Shimmon finishing 2-under-par. The pair are tied for 12th in the individual standings.
Zhang closed her round on a high note, recording two birdies over the final three holes to climb the leaderboard.
Senior Pusanisa Ekkantrong sits third among the Lancers and is tied for 17th overall after shooting even par in the second round, keeping her just behind Zhang and Shimmon.
Freshman Crista Miñoza also improved on her opening-round performance, shooting a 78 (+6) to shave five strokes off her Day 1 score.
As a team, the Lancers are tied with Central Arkansas for fourth place and sit just three strokes behind second place Arkansas State.
CBU will look to build on its second-round momentum and climb the standings in tomorrow's final round.
