SANTA CLARA, CA--- The California Baptist University men's water polo team kicked off the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament with a rout of Fresno Pacific for the 22nd win of the season.

The Lancers defeated the Sunbirds for the third time this season with a final score of 26-10 to move to 22-6 overall.

The Lancers' offense was hot from the jump as they would outscore the Sunbirds 8-2 after the opening eight minutes of action. The Lancers would add five more in the second period as they would be all over the Sunbirds 13-4 at the halftime intermission.

FPU was much better offensively in the third period, scoring four goals, but the Lancers would still manage to outscore them with five more tallies in the frame, putting them in cruise control heading into the fourth quarter. CBU found the back of the next seven more times in the final frame as they would dominate the Sunbirds 26-10 at the final whistle.

Rafa Martinez had a team-high five goals to lead the way for the Lancers, while Quintin Hoffman, Andrea Nuzzo, Alessandro Tiberio, Micah Grantham, and Whitley Beamon all had hat tricks in the offensive explosion. Tyler Carson played the full 32 minutes in the cage and had nine saves.

NEXT: The Lancers will finalize the Julian Fraser Memorial Invitational tomorrow with matches against #15 San Jose State and #6 Princeton in San Jose.
