10/6/2026 5:00:00 PM | Men's Soccer
RIVERSIDE --- A national audience will be tuning into the CBU Soccer Stadium on Wednesday, as California Baptist battles Oregon State on ESPNU. A matchup featuring the top two teams from the Pac-12 Preseason Coaches' Poll, the Lancers look to extend their win streak and remain at the top of the conference table.
Â
Wednesday's match was selected by ESPN for a national broadcast before the start of the season, and now, 10 matches in, both teams have put themselves in a position to garner national attention. The match features two programs ranked in the top 55 of the RPI, including the Lancers, who are newly receiving votes in the latest United Soccer Coaches' National Poll.
Â
The Lancers are 8-2-0 to start the season, including a 2-0-0 start to the conference schedule. CBU has won six in a row, the longest win streak of the Lancers' Division I era, outscoring opponents 13-3 during this run.
Â
Two Lancers, senior Stavros Charalampous and freshman Justin Ojo, were recognized by the Pac-12 on Tuesday. Charalampous was named the Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Week, while Ojo, having scored four goals last week, was named Offensive Player of the Week.
Â
Ojo is second on the team in scoring with five goals. Junior Blake D'Agostino continues to lead the Lancers with six goals and 15 points.
Â
The Lancers kicked off their first Pac-12 season last week with a pair of wins, starting in Spokane when CBU topped Gonzaga, 5-2. CBU added their second win in San Luis Obispo when they defeated Cal Poly, 3-1.
Â
CBU is the only team to claim two wins in week one of the conference season, placing the Lancers in the early lead for the conference's regular season title.
Â
Oregon State enters week two in second place, having finished 1-0-1 during the first week of conference action. The Beavers played to a 2-2 draw with San Diego State on opening night of the conference season. OSU then earned its first conference victory, 4-1, over UC Riverside on Saturday.
Â
Wyatt Borso leads the Beavers and the Pac-12 with eight goals in ten matches. Borso is one of five Beavers to net multiple goals this season. As a team, the Beavers come into Wednesday night scoring 2.3 goals per match.
Â
Defensively, Oregon State has limited opponents to 1.5 goals per match. Goalkeeper John Nicolson posts a .694 save percentage in ten appearances. His counterpart, Ulrik Stroem, leads the Pac-12 with five shutouts and is second with his .769 save percentage.
Â
Wednesday's meeting of the Lancers and Beavers is scheduled to kick off at 7:05 p.m.
Â
The Lancers will continue this homestand on Saturday when UC Riverside visits CBU for the 2026 installment of the Crosstown Showdown. Tickets for all remaining home dates are on sale HERE.
