
STUNT Sweeps Opening Weekend in Tempe

TEMPE, AZ --- The five-time defending champions of Division I STUNT opened the 2026 season on Sunday with a trio of games in Arizona. In typical fashion by the Lancers, CBU swept the day, opening the season with a 3-0 trip in the desert.
CBU jump-started the season against the national champions of Division III STUNT, George Fox University. It was a shutout for CBU as the Lancers grabbed all 24 points, claiming a 24-0 victory in the opening game of the 2026 season.
Maddison Arochi was the highest-rated player in game one, scoring 47 points. McKenna Myrdal scored 45 points to finish as the Stunter of the Game, and Alexcius York finished as the Tumbler of the Game with 22 points.
Next up were the Aggies of UC Davis, another 24-0 victory for the Lancers. York finished as the game's highest-rated player with 68 points. Ava Hersman was the Stunter of the Game with 63 points, followed by Kaleigh Hafner, whose 37 points placed her as the Tumbler of the Game.
CBU's final test of the day came against the weekend's host, the Sun Devils from Arizona State. The Lancers grabbed their third victory of the day, this time by a 28-5 final, improving CBU to 3-0. Arochi's 84 points ranked her as the highest-rated player. The Stunter of the Game was Layla Langrell with 67 points, followed by Gator Olmsted, the Tumbler of the Game, with 33 points.
Saturday's sweep moves the Lancers to 110-0 all-time.
The Lancers will return to action next weekend when they play St. Mary's University on Saturday, February 7, in Fullerton. CBU will play its first two home games of the season on February 13 when Concordia and Cal Poly visit Van Dyne Gym.
Games on February 13 are set for 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m.
