STUNT Sweeps Day One of the Joust on Senior Night

RIVERSIDE--- The California Baptist University STUNT team opened the JOUST on Thursday evening in Riverside with a pair of victories over the Hawaii Pacific Sharks and Arizona State Sun Devils on Senior Night.
The wins for the Lancers keep CBU unbeaten in program history at 124-0, and they move to 17-0 on the season.
The evening began with a perfect sweep of Hawaii Pacific, as the Lancers dominated the match 24-0 and picked up the win in their first-ever meeting with the Sharks. Abigail Eshleman and Layla Langrell split the MVP honors in the game with 37 points apiece, while Marissa Montano was named Stunter of the Game with 32 points, and Thi Nguyen earned the Tumbler of the Game honor with 21 points.
The Lancers would then finish off the night with a bout against the Arizona State Sun Devils for Senior Night. CBU would honor four seniors in a postgame ceremony, including Macy Uemoto, Ella Hodson, Haley Altenhofel, and Kaelyn Ortega. The Lancers would conclude the day 2-0 with a 27-3 win over the Sun Devils, making their all-time record against ASU 12-0. Maddison Arochi was dubbed the MVP of the match with 80 points, while Langrell earned Stunter of the Game, and Gator Olmsted was the Tumbler of the match.
NEXT: The Lancers will finish the Joust on Saturday, March 14, in the Fowler Events Center.
