WGOLF Preview: Lancers Open Season Monday at Yellowstone Intercollegiate

RIVERSIDE – The women's golf team begins its 2026-27 campaign Monday at the Yellowstone Intercollegiate, returning to Riverside Country Club in Bozeman, Montana, for the second consecutive season.
The Lancers will send a five-person lineup to Bozeman, featuring seniors Burberry Zhang and Pusanisa Ekkantrong, juniors Nana Ishikawa and Lisa Shimmon, and sophomore Shuyi Cao.
Ekkantrong, who will serve as the team's captain this season, holds three CBU individual program records and will look to lead the Lancers as they begin their transition into the Big West Conference.
The Lancers also enter the season looking to continue a recent run of individual conference honors, having had the conference Freshman of the Year in each of the last three seasons.

The tournament will span two days, with the opening day featuring 36 holes across two rounds before concluding with an 18-hole final round on Tuesday. Both rounds will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start. A total of 11 teams will compete in the tournament.
CBU last competed at the Yellowstone Intercollegiate during the fall 2025 season, finishing tied for fourth overall. Alum Samantha Dizon was the Lancers' highest finisher, placing second overall at 4-under, while Ekkantrong finished tied for 20th at 4-over.
With much of the lineup familiar with the course from last season, the Lancers will look to build on last year's performance as they open the 2026-27 campaign.
"Excited to start our season at the Yellowstone Intercollegiate in Bozeman, Montana. We are focused on trusting the process and want to remember to have a balance of focus and fun while competing," said head coach Marc Machado.
