RIVERSIDE--- The California Baptist University men's water polo team remained perfect at home on Saturday as they swept The Joust with two more wins over Toronto and Fresno Pacific at the Lancer Aquatics Center.

The wins extend CBU's winning streak to six straight and bring them to 15-3 on the season.

G1 vs Toronto:

The Lancers would open the day with their second straight game against the Varsity Blues of Toronto. CBU defeated Toronto 18-8 in the night match on Friday and would make it back-to-back on Saturday. The Lancers scored the opening three goals of the match before the Varsity Blues would score four of the next seven to keep the match competitive.

CBU's starters would go to the bench early as Kevin Rosda would give his second unit more run in the match. The Lancers' defense toughened up on Toronto in the second period, with no goals allowed while putting five in the back of the net. The onslaught continued into the second half as the Lancers finalized a 7-0 run and would go on to defeat the Varsity Blues 20-7.

Tanner Alford would come off the bench and lead the Lancers in scoring with four points, with a goal and three assists. Zander Montoya would have a hat trick in the match while Micah Grantham, Whitley Beamon, and Andrea Nuzzo all had three points. Tyler Carson and Edric Scott combined for seven saves, led by Carson with five.

G2 vs Fresno Pacific:

The final match of the afternoon came against the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds. The matchup would be the second of three matchups against Fresno Pacific after the Lancers defeated the Sunbirds at the IE Classic earlier, and will play them on the road in late October.

The Lancer offense was clicking on all cylinders in the opening frame as they would score eight goals, including a hat trick from Rafa Martinez. The Sunbirds would manage three goals in the period, but they would trail by five after eight minutes. The offensive avalanche continued into the second as the Lancers would one-up themselves with nine goals scored in the second, led by Martinez and Quintin Hoffman, who would score two each in the period, giving CBU a 17-8 halftime advantage.

The third period was played even at two goals apiece, and the Lancers would outscore FPU 5-1 in the fourth period, leading to the dominant 24-11 victory over the Sunbirds. The dynamic duo of Andrea Nuzzo and Rafa Martinez was the storyline again for CBU, as they combined for 14 points. Nuzzo would have four goals and four assists, while Martinez would score six goals on six shots. Alessandro Tiberio would have two goals and two assists off the pine, while Hoffman would record a hat trick.

NEXT: The Lancers will host #4 Fordham on Monday morning at 11 AM at the Lancer Aquatics Center.
