MWP Preview: CBU Set to Host #4 Fordham in Monday Morning Clash in Riverside

RIVERSIDE--- The California Baptist University men's water polo team will gear up for one of its most important home matches of the season as they host #4 Fordham on Monday in Riverside.
CBU enters the matchup on a winning streak, having won their last six matches, including a 4-0 result at their home tournament this past weekend. The Lancers will subsequently look to defend their home pool as they are 6-0 this season at home and have not lost at home since November 8 of last season.
Fordham is the highest-ranked team the Lancers have hosted at the Lancer Aquatics Center since 2023, when they faced #4 Pepperdine. The win would also be the highest-ranked in program history, with the previous high coming in 2024 over #5 UC Irvine. The Rams are off to another terrific start as they are 9-1 with their only loss coming by four goals to #1 UCLA in Westwood. The Rams will also play at fellow Big West rival Long Beach State on Sunday afternoon before making the trip to Riverside. The Rams have posted signature wins this season over #6 UC Davis, #9 Pepperdine, and #11 San Jose State, with the latter two coming at home in The Bronx.
For the Lancers, it will be the first time they have hosted Fordham since 2014 in Kevin Rosa's first season as a head coach, and their last win over the Rams came in 2021 in Princeton, New Jersey.
