Ivo ran in just one race during the shortened season... During that 3,000-meter race at the Pomona-Pitzer All Comers meet, Balabanov set a program record time finishing at 8:21.15.

Attended high school in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria, and graduated in 2016... Competed for the club team Athlete-Mezdra... Owns personal bests of three minutes, 45 seconds in the 1500 meter, 8:01 in the 3K, 8:51 in the steeplechase, and 14:07 in the 5,000.

Born and raised in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria... Enjoys boxing, movies, and cars... Kinesiology major... Represented Bulgaria at the 2018 and 2019 European u23 Cross Country Championships.
