Jeff Redinger became a full-time assistant coach to Coe Michaelson in the summer of 2017 after being a part-time coach for the past five seasons. He works mainly with the Lancer goalkeepers.
As a student-athlete at CBU, Redinger quickly established himself as a dominant force between the posts as a three-year starter. He tallied a total of 47 games for the Lancers, logging 4,086 minutes in action to rank fourth all-time for both games and minutes played. His 1.12 career goals against average ranks third all-time, only behind his protégé Joey Pacheco.
In 2010, his senior year, Redinger boasted a program-best 0.67 goals against average. That year, he grabbed a 10-2-0 record to put his career record to 22-16-5. He also ranks second all-time with 12 career shutouts (also surpassed by protégé Pacheco) and eighth all-time with 139 career saves.
The two-time GSAC Defensive Player of the Week went on to play professionally for the Anaheim Bolts (PASL) and has also played for SUSA Everton — where he played against San Jose Earthquakes and L.A. Galaxy reserve teams — and Riverside MGFM.
After hanging up his playing boots, Redinger took to the coaching side and helped the Lancers grab their second-straight NCCAA Championship in 2012. That year, CBU's goalkeeper Pacheco was named the PacWest Keeper of the Year. CBU also went on to grab its first NCAA Division II playoff berth in 2013, the first year the Lancers were eligible for play.
Outside of CBU, Redinger also coaches for the San Clemente Surf SC and Fullerton Slammers as the goalkeeper coach for ages 8-18.
