Former Lancer Josh Blanco begins his first season as an assistant coach for Shayon Jalayer.
Blanco spent three seasons at CBU, the last two of which were between the pipes. He appeared in 28 games, starting 25 of them in goal and holds CBU single-season (1.20) and career (1.64) records for goals against average. He also made 85 saves and posted four shutouts. His finest season came in 2005 when he started all 16 games in goal, collected 65 saves, posted four shutouts and set a program single-season record with a 1.20 goals against average.
As a 2004 sophomore, Blanco appeared in 10 games in the field, starting two of them, prior to transitioning to keeper.
Blanco also played one season at Riverside Community College, appearing in eight games as a 2003 redshirt freshman keeper. He nabbed 44 saves and also scored a goal while playing in the field.
Blanco graduated in 2006 with a degree in kinesiology.
