Matt Horrocks joined California Baptist University Athletics in July 2025 as the Assistant Athletic Director for Communications and Digital Media. Horrocks joined the Lancer team with experience at the Division II and NAIA ranks.

Horrocks is a 2017 graduate of William Jessup University in Rocklin, CA, where he earned his B.A. in Public Policy. He later completed his M.A. in Sports Management through Jessup in 2020.

Before CBU, Horrocks spent five years as the Sports Information Director at his alma mater. During that time, Horrocks spearheaded the redesign of www.jessupathletics.com in conjunction with the athletic department's rebrand. He oversaw game operations and was the primary communications contact for all 18 of the university’s sports.

Horrocks got his start in sports in the fall of 2011, as a high school junior, when he began volunteering at Jessup basketball games as a statistician. His duties progressed the following year, leading him to pick Jessup for his undergraduate studies.

Away from Jessup, Horrocks’ career has featured stops with HD Supply, Halldin Public Relations, and the Sacramento River Cats during the team’s first season as the Triple-A affiliate of the San Francisco Giants.

Horrocks’ work has been recognized with four first-place finishes in the NAIA-SIDA Publications & Media Contest (COVID-19 Feature – 2019; Game Recap – 2022; Season Preview/Review – 2022; Motion Graphics – 2022), along with 22 top ten finishes. He added Best of NAIA honors for his work in Long Form Videos/Recaps in the 2024 CSC Digital Design Contest, and Best of Division II honors for Game Day Graphics in 2025. His writing has also been recognized nationally in the CSC Fred Stabley Writing Contest. He has served on the NAIA Publications Committee and is an active member of the CSC U Committee.

Horrocks, a Sacramento area native, transitions to Southern California with his wife, Cassandra, son Landon, and dog Riley.
