THIS YEAR: Senior gunslinger Dave Cernin will again be looked upon to provide the Lancers with an outside shooting presence ... Is a well-rounded player who has the ability to score, rebound, get assists and create turnovers ... Is a cerebral player ... Noted for his ability to stay calm and poised under any circumstance ... Confident.
2008: Started each of the Lancers’ 33 games, averaging 25.9 minutes ... Was third on the team averaging 10.2 points ... Also averaged 3.3 rebounds and was 11th in the GSAC with 43 steals ... Scored a career-high 30 points in a win over Concordia ... Averaged 10 points, 8.5 rebounds and four assists at the NAIA Tournament ... Scored in double-digits 16 times, including seven of the final 11 games ... Had two 20-point games ... Hit a season-high six 3-pointers at The Master’s ... Grabbed a season-high 10 rebounds twice, both in the postseason against The Master’s and Xavier (La.) ... Scored 23 points, hitting five treys, in a win at Cal State Maritime ... Added 21 points, six rebounds, five steals and four assists in a win at Dominican.
CLACKAMAS CC: Played two seasons at Clackamas Junior College in Oregon City, Ore., for head coach Clif Wegner ... Named All-NWAACC first team and an NWAACC Sophomore All-Star after averaging 15.5 points and 5.0 rebounds per game in leading the Cougars (29-4) to their first NWAACC championship since 1994 ... Had 17 points, five assists and three steals in the Cougars’ championship game win over Bellevue (Wash.) ... Led the 21-12 Cougars in scoring (16.1 avg.) and three-pointers (83) as a 2006 freshman ... Also averaged 4.24 rebounds per game.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped four varsity seasons for head coach Scott Kellar at Century High in Hillsboro, Ore., graduating in 2005 ... Was a two-time All-Metro League first team selection and also earned second team honors as a sophomore ... Was a two-time all-state honoree ... Set school records for points, rebounds and assists ... Also played three years of varsity baseball, earning all-league honors as a pitcher.
