The Lancers, who finished the season going 4-0-1 in their final 5 games, improve to
Senior Salvador Ramos finished with 2 goals as did junior Manny Ruiz-Esparza. Jose Solis added his first goal of the season to go along with 2 assists.
The Hawks actually struck first scoring in the tenth minute off a set piece when Kyle Ormsbee's header floated over Lancer GK Adam Kramer. The Lancers, however, found the equalizer in the 25th minute when Christian Diaz converted an assist from Federico Cino to make it 1-1.
Just 7 minutes later, Ruiz-Esparza headed in a David Nolan cross to make it 2-1 and then 3 minutes later in the 35th minute, Cino buried a penalty kick to give the Lancers a 3-1 lead they carried into intermission.
It took the Lancers all of 12 minutes to blow the game open, scoring 5 times in that span. Ramos got things started in the 59th minute off an assist from Robbie Dodson. Less than 2 minutes later, Solis scored on a 30-yard free kick. In the 62nd minute, Ruiz-Esparza scored his second goal of the game, and then in the 65th minute Ramos converted a Solis pass for his second goal.
Fashinu-Ron Nesbeth then scored his team-leading and career-high seventh goal of the year in the 70th minute when he headed home a service from Solis to complete the Lancers' scoring. SDCC scored its other goal in the 80th minute. The Lancers out-shot the Hawks, 26-3.
