10/21/2025 4:30:00 PM | Men's Soccer
RIVERSIDE --- For the first time in the program's eight-year Division I history, California Baptist University men's soccer is nationally ranked. In the latest United Soccer Coaches' Poll released Tuesday afternoon, the Lancers jumped to No. 25.
The national ranking is the first for the program, which has received votes in three polls throughout the 2025 season. CBU is the only program from the Western Athletic Conference (WAC) to receive votes in the latest poll.
On top of the national ranking, the Lancers also sit at the top in their regional ranking. Rankings for the Far West Region were released on Tuesday as well. The Lancers hold the top spot out of eight teams.
CBU enters this week 7-2-3 overall on the season, adding a 2-1-1 mark in WAC play as well. The Lancers are unbeaten in their last three matches, following up a draw against UNLV with wins against Grand Canyon and Utah Valley.
With their 4-1 road victory against UVU came a jump in the RPI for the Lancers. CBU entered the match at No. 46 in the men's soccer RPI and climbed to No. 28 with the win. The Lancers have sat as high as No. 25 in the RPI this season, with that coming in September after the program beat then No. 20 UC Irvine.
The win vs. UCI was the first-ranked victory in program history.
Three matches remain in the regular season for CBU, as the Lancers find themselves in the hunt for the first WAC regular season championship in program history. Four teams are tied for first place in the WAC with a 2-1-1 record. Grand Canyon, San Diego State, and Utah Tech are also 2-1-1.
Two of the Lancers' remaining matches come against teams deadlocked in the four-way tie. After CBU visits Air Force on Thursday evening, the Lancers will return home to take on Utah Tech on Sunday evening for Senior Night. Following their final home regular-season match, the Lancers will travel to San Diego to take on the Aztecs on November 1.
The 2025 WAC Tournament returns to Riverside, with postseason soccer kicking off on November 9. Tickets for the Lancers' home finale and the WAC Tournament are on sale HERE.
