CBU owned the lead through much of the opening game, but after the Seasiders came back and won, the Lancers could not muster a rally, losing 25-22, 25-19, 25-19.
The Lancers got into a shootout with the Seasiders to open the match, seeming to carry some of the intensity from last night's thriller into Wednesday's match.
CBU ripped 19 kills in the opener and BYUH hit 15, but the Seasiders committed just two errors to post a .419 hitting percentage for the win. Jelena Dragovic jumped out to a hot start for CBU going 6-for-6 on kill attempts in the opening set.
CBU built a six-point lead mid-way through the first game, but a five-point Seasider run all but evaporated it. BYUH would score the final three points in the set to get the win.
Any residual energy the Lancers may have been carrying into play was lost after the Lancers fell by six points in the second game.
After the Lancers lost their advantage in the opening game, they would trail the rest of the way. CBU hit .000 in the final game.
Dragovic ended the night with 11 kills, hitting .667 with just one error on 15 attempts. The Sophomore middle blocker also served a pair of aces in the match. Jessica Kalama posted 13 digs and Megan Glennie had 12.
Lauren Hagemeyer and Shih Ting Chen each had 13 kills for BYUH, though Hagemeyer posted the better attack percentage, doing her damage on 19 attempts with just four errors (.474). Ying Chun Chen had a match-high 29 assists.
CBU falls to 8-8 overall, 1-4 PacWest, while BYUH improves to 10-3, 7-1. With the last two wins, the Seasiders take over first place in the conference standings.
The Lancers travel north to San Francisco this weekend for a pair of matches against Academy of Art.
