
Clean Sweep

BELMONT, Calif. --- It was a clean sweep for California Baptist University on the road Friday night, as the Lancers downed the Notre Dame de Namur Argonauts, 3-0 (25-16, 25-20, 25-14).
It was the second win in as many days for the Lancers, who move to 2-0 in PacWest play and 5-5 overall.
The Lancers got rolling with six-straight points in the first to go up 14-9 and then held on the rest of the way for the opening game win. CBU led by as much as nine in the set.
It wasn't until late in the second that the Lancers pulled away, kicking it into gear up just 16-15 late. CBU rattled off five-straight points behind two-straight Kim McCalmont kills to seal the game.
The dominance only continued from there as CBU took the final set by 11 points.
The Lancers hit a season-high .308 in the match, posting 37 kills and just nine errors. CBU also had 12 blocks in just the three sets played.
McCalmont led the way with 10 kills for the Lancers and Lauren Marr added eight as well. Marr hit .462 in the contest, recording her eight strikes on 13 attempts with just two errors.
The Lancers' middles continued to control the net as well, with Malika O'Brien and Jelena Dragovic each recording three blocks.
The Argonauts were led by Brooke DeMiguel who posted eight kills.
NDNU falls to 2-8, 0-2 in the PacWest with the loss. CBU will be back in action tomorrow night as the Lancers take on Dominican to close out their three-game road trip.
