Lloyd Nabs Freshman of the Week Honor

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — After another stellar week at the plate, California Baptist University's Caitlyn Lloyd picked up her first PacWest Freshman of the Year honor Monday afternoon.
The freshman outfielder led the Lancers to a 4-0 week, sweeping No. 7 Adelphi at home and opening conference action with a sweep over Concordia University of Irvine on Saturday. Lloyd hit .615 (8-13) with five extra-base hits, three RBI, and three runs scored. She went 6-for-8 with two doubles, a triple, a home run, three RBIs and three runs in the pair of wins over Concordia.
Lloyd is on a seven-game hitting streak, and ranks fourth in the PacWest in batting average (.462), and fifth in hits (18) and slugging percentage (.923).
CBU continues conference action tomorrow at rival Azusa Pacific for a doubleheader scheduled for a 4 p.m. start.
