Preseason Honors Roll in for CBU

RIVERSIDE, Calif. — Three Lancers were named to the 2017 Preseason All-PacWest Women's Soccer team Tuesday, with California Baptist University picked to take second in the conference.
Sara Escobedo was named the Preseason Goalkeeper of the Year heading into her senior year. Escobedo grabbed six shutouts last year and boasted a .862 goals-against average to help the Lancers take second in the conference. She goes into the 2017 campaign with 225 career saves and 20 career shutouts.
Desarae Felix and Symone Mack rounded out the preseason selections after both grabbed All-PacWest honors last year.
Felix finished last year with five goals, including two game-winners. She led the team with five assists on the year to grab her second All-PacWest honor.
Mack appeared in all 18 games as a true freshman for CBU, making 14 starts as a centerback. She had two assists on the year while helping hold opponents to just 16 goals on the year – the second fewest in program history.
CBU kicks off the season on August 31 as it hosts Cal State San Bernardino at 11 a.m.
