CBU Secures Best Finish of the Year

RESULTS
SAN DIEGO – An even-par third round ensured California Baptist University's finest performance of the season at The Farms Intercollegiate, which was hosted by the University of San Diego at the Farms Golf Club.
The Lancers were one of just two teams to shoot par or better in Tuesday's third round, with the other being 17th ranked Cal, which won the tournament title with an 843. Loyola Marymount and Long Beach State took second and third, with an 879 and 884, respectively, while CBU took fourth with an 890 (300-302-288).
It gives CBU head-to-head wins over Western Athletic Conference foe NM State (fifth, 909); Sacramento State (sixth, 918); UC Riverside (seventh, 921); Idaho (eighth, 926); Wichita State (ninth) and host San Diego (956).
Four Lancers finished in the top 30 individual standings, while three were in the top-20. Senior Ben Hallam tied for seventh place overall with a two-over 218 (70-77-71) after he went under par for the second time in the tournament.
True freshman Harrison Kingsley took 15th overall after he shot two-under-par 70 in the final round. He compiled a 222 on the week (75-77-70). Fellow freshman John Hayes tied for 18th place with a 224 after he shot 76 or better all three rounds (73-76-75).
After a tough first 18 holes, Ryan Monsalve put together two-straight, even-par 72 rounds to finish the week and take 28th with a 226 (82-72-72). Connor Benjamin took 63rd in his collegiate debut with a 254.
