Andrew Bash continued to dominate on the mound for the Lancers with an eight-inning start in which he allowed just four hits, a walk, one run and struck out eight. It lowered his earned-run average to a conference-best 1.61 among starting pitchers this year.

Offensively, CBU manufactured runs in a number of different ways: sacrifice flies, squeeze bunts, home runs and more to secure the victory and improve to 23-12, 8-4 in the WAC and drop the Roadrunners to 15-22, 3-9. Ryan Mota went 2-for-4 with a grand slam to turn a close game into a blowout in the bottom of the seventh.
The Lancers host the University of San Diego for a non-conference game on Tuesday at 6 p.m. before hitting the road for a pivotal WAC series at The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley, a top-three team in the conference, Thursday through Saturday.
CBU took a lead in the bottom of the first after back-to-back leadoff singles from Chad Castillo and Bash. John Glenn drove in the first run of the game with a grounder to second base.
Bash was dialed in on the mound, but CSUB tied the game with a lead-off homer from Tyler Jorgensen in the top of the fifth. CBU got the run right back in the bottom half of the inning after a pair of walks and a double steal from Billy Rockefeller and Harrison Spohn.
