
Lancers Finish Day Two at Bandon Dunes Championship

BANDON --- California Baptist University's men's golf team finished the second day of the Bandon Dunes Championship on Monday afternoon.
After leading the field by three strokes after Sunday's opening round, Oregon State extended its day-one lead to six strokes after a 7-under-par 277 performance. The Beavers sit atop the leaderboard with a 10-under-par 281-277=588 team score. Oregon matched its in-state rival with a 7-under-par 277 during Monday's round to move up three spots to take second with a 4-under-par 564. No. 12 Washington advanced to third, No. 34 Kansas climbed to fourth, and Boise State sits in fifth.
The Lancers are currently in 16th with a 303-308=611 team score. Ryan Monsalve bounced back during the second round with a 1-over-par 72 to sit T-61st. John Hayes carded a 3-over-par 74 to improve upon his 77 from the first round to sit T-69th. Monsalve moved up 17 spots on the leaderboard, while Hayes climbed up nine spots.
Justin Cross is T-87th with a 74-81=155, while James Mackie is T-96th with a 75-84=159. Jacob Smith recorded back-to-back 81's for a 162 to take 99th.
Devon Bling of UCLA, Axel Einarsson of Utah, and Nathan Cogswell are in a three-way tie for first after the second round with a 5-under-par 137.
