
Lancers Close Out Oregon State Invitational In Eighth

CORVALLIS --- After darkness had suspended the first day of the Oregon State Invitational, California Baptist University closed out the two-day event on Tuesday, taking eighth out of 15 teams.
The Lancers closed out the final day with a 294-296 finish for a 27-over-par 879 team score. The 15-team field battled the conditions during Tuesday's round as rain played a factor throughout the day. No team in the field produced an under-par team score in the final round.
Washington came away with the team victory shooting a 14-under-par 276-278-284=838 to win by 11 strokes. Boise State was the next closest in second with a 3-under-par 849 team score, while Utah closed out the podium with a 3-over-par 855.
Eeli Kujanpää led the Lancers for the 54-hole event, placing T-18th with a 4-over-par 74-67-76=217. His 4-under-par in the second round marks a new career low for the freshman.

Sean Citherlet jumped up four spots to finish behind Kujanpää at T-24th with a 5-over-par 69-76-73=218. John Hayes claimed his spot at T-33rd with a 7-over-par 71-75-74=220, while Luka Bartram and James Mackie finished T-56th and T-60th, respectively.
The Lancers will finish their fall season at the Visit Stockton Pacific Invitational on Oct. 21-23 at the Stockton Golf & Country Club.
