
Lancers Close Out Fall Season At The Clash At Boulder Creek

BOULDER CITY --- California Baptist University closed out its fall season at The Clash At Boulder Creek on Tuesday, as the Lancers produced their best team score of the three-day tournament.
The Lancers closed out the three-day, 54-hole event with a 13-over-par 301 team score to finish 13th out of 18 teams. CBU edged out Southern Utah, Weber State, North Dakota, Wyoming and Portland State with a 303-312-301=916 team score.
UNLV won the event with an even-par 297-287-280=864 finish. Fresno State finished behind the Rebels in second with an 880 team score, while San Francisco claimed third with an 882 team score.
Haruka Shintani was the top finisher for the Lancers, taking T-44th with a 12-over-par 75-78-75=228. Jocelyn Chee moved up 11 spots to finish T-50th with a 14-over-par 74-83-73=230. Her 1-over-par on the day was the team's low round.
Esther Lee finished one stroke behind Chee at T-55th with a 15-over-par 75-78-78=231, while Hailey Loh climbed up 10 spots to take T-68th with an 18-over-par 84-75-75=234. Sofia Chabon signed a 23-over-par 79-81-79=239 to place T-83rd.
Veronica Joels of UNLV held on to the top spot and claimed medalist honors with a 5-under-par 70-69-72=211.
The Lancers will wait until the New Year before they tee it up again, as they open the spring with the SoCal Ryder Cup on Jan. 31.
