RIVERSIDE --- California Baptist University has added a pair of home games this weekend, as the Lancers will host Sacramento State on Saturday, Feb. 13, and Sunday, Feb. 14. Both games are set for a noon tipoff.
California Baptist was previously scheduled to host The University of Texas Rio Grande Valley on the weekend, but those games have been canceled after the devastating news of head coach Lew Hill passing away on Sunday, Feb. 7.
"This decision was made after several discussions with our men's basketball team and we are 100% supportive of our student-athletes and coaches," UTRGV Vice President and Director of Athletics Chasse Conque said. "We all need time to process this immeasurable loss, and we have told our team to take as much time as they need. Our priority is the well-being of our student-athletes, coaches and staff. Everything else is secondary."
Sacramento State was scheduled to play a two-game series against North Colorado, but that series was canceled due to COVID-19 testing protocols within Northern Colorado's program.
