LOS ANGELES --- California Baptist University played all 110 minutes against Loyola Marymount on Saturday, as the Lancers and the Lions finished with a 1-1 draw in double overtime.
The Lancers are now 2-0-1 on the season, and the game against the Lions will conclude the non-conference portion of the 2021 schedule.
CBU dominated the offensive side of the ball for most of the game, as the Lancers outshot the Lions, 28-8, and recorded 10 shots on goal to the Lions' two.
It was a technical and back-and-forth game from start to finish, as each team tried to control possession and take advantage of set pieces.
With three minutes left in the first half, the Lancers earned a free-kick after a foul was drawn near the center circle. Ari Coronado quickly forced the ball up the field to Neleah Dunlap, catching the Lions' defense off guard. Dunlap then took her defender 1-on-1 up the side of the field and placed a perfect cross into the box. Deniah Wells slipped past her defender and put her right foot on the ball to score the goal over the keeper's head.

The Lions were able to score the equalizer coming out of the break, and the score remained the same for the rest of the game.
The Lancers continued to put pressure on the Lions' keeper, but were unsuccessful for the game-winner. In the final minutes, the Lancers put together another good opportunity but it was saved by Lions' Kendyll Humphreys. She would finish with nine saves on the day.
Rola Badawiya led the Lancers with a team-high six shots, while Amy Aquino recorded five, and Karley Weeks added four. Jayden Ramirez had the most efficient day for the Lancers, recording all three of her shots on frame.
