It started with Florian Le Pallec in 10,000 meter, as he took seventh overall in 29 minutes, 21.06 seconds. Ivo Balabanov then did so in the 5K with a runner-up finish in his heat in 14:08.37. Le Pallec's 10K time ranks second only behind Balabanov's time of 28:43.33 set at The Track Meet this December. The previous record stood for 19 years after Gabriel Hernandez ran a 29:22.07 in 2002.
Balabanov added another impressive time to his resume with the 14:08 in the 5K. It was the No. 2 time of any Lancer ever, which was previously set at 14:08.54 by Hernandez in 2002. It's second only to Kris Bowditch's record of 13:48.75 from 1999.
