
Lancers Finish Second Day At Bandon Dunes Invitational

BANDON --- California Baptist University's men's golf team finished the second day of the Bandon Dunes Invitational on Monday, as the Lancers sit in 12th out of 15 teams.
Day two brought its own challenges to the 15-team field, as the low score for the day was 11-over-par. No. 30 Oregon produced one of the 11-over-par team scores to move up three spots to take the top spot with a 15-over-par 583 team score. No. 9 Kansas relinquished its day one lead with a 17-over-par 301 18-hole team score to finish one stroke off the Ducks with a 16-over-par 584 team score. San Jose State stayed in third with a 17-over-par 585 team score, and No. 42 Utah jumped up one spot to take fourth with a 19-over-par 587 team score.
California Baptist University shot a 25-over-par 309 team score and sits in 12th with a 37-over-par 605 team score. The Lancers are four strokes off moving into the top half of the field.
Sean Citherlet finished his day at T-30th after shooting a 6-over-par 77 for a 7-over-par 149 total. John Hayes had the best day for the Lancers, moving up 13 spots with a 4-over-par 75 to finish T-41st with a 9-over-par 151 total.
Eeli Kujanpää is currently at T-47th with a 10-over-par 73-79=152 total, while Luke Bartram is T-69th after a 14-over-par 78-78=156 total. James Mackie finished his day at T-81st with a 16-over-par 75-83=158 total.
Caleb Shetler ended his second round with a 2-over-par 73 and holds a one-stroke lead over the 100-player field with a 1-under-par 141 total.
The Lancers will finish the final round at the Bandon Dunes – Sheep Ranch golf course on Tuesday, March 8. The shotgun start is set for an 8:30 a.m. tee time.
