RIVERSIDE – Sixteen California Baptist University women's water polo players earned All-Academic acclaim from the Golden Coast Conference on Thursday. It marks the fifth year in a row at least 14 Lancers have earned GCC All-Academic recognition.
The Lancers led the GCC in All-Academic Team members, with San Diego State ranking second with 15. To be selected, student-athletes had to carry a grade-point average of 3.0 or higher, played in at least 50 percent of their team's games and be classified as a full-time student who has completed a minimum of one semester at her institution.
Ten Lancers earned GCC All-Academic honors for multiple times in their career. It was the fifth such award for Kira O'Donell, while Morgan Baker and Jamie Hutton made the list for the fourth time.
Caelan Loroff, Vicky Martinez, Lahela Rosario and Maddie Schwegler qualified for the third time in their careers, while Kyndall Burrell, Melinna Galbraith and Abby Mammen made the team for the second year in a row.
CBU's first-time honorees were Madison Gerg, Taylor Frandsen, Anielysa Mena, Celeste Almendariz, Cayleigh Carter and Jenna Dickstein.

The Lancers posted top-15 GPAs in the NCAA overall (Divisions I-III) for seven years in a row (2015-21), including a streak of four top-five marks, with 2022 still yet to be determined by the Association of Collegiate Water Polo Coaches.
