Bartram Leads CBU Men After Day One At OC Collegiate Classic

COTO DE CAZA – California Baptist University men's golf opened play at the Orange County Collegiate Classic on Monday morning, finishing the day in ninth place with a combined team score of +21 (615) after two rounds.
Cal State Fullerton leads the field with the only under-par score on day one at -10 (566). Cal Poly is second with a +4 (580), followed by UC San Diego, which closed day one at +13 (589). CBU trails eighth-place UC Riverside by five strokes and leads the University of Fraser Valley by four.
The Lancers are led after the first day by Luke Bartram, who carded at 74/78 for a day one total of +8 (152). Bartram started strong, finishing his first nine one-under with four birdies. He ended the day with the second-best par 3 average in the field, posting a cumulative -2 on the short holes, needing just 2.75 strokers per hole.
The final round shotgun start begins at 8:00 a.m. on the beautiful Coto de Caza South Course.
