
Men’s Golf Closes out Rutherford Intercollegiate in Sixth Place

STATE COLLEGE, PA – California Baptist University men's golf finished their penultimate regular season tournament in sixth place on Sunday, with a final team score of 16-over par (868). Host Penn State charged back on Sunday to defend their home course as the only team to go under on the final day, carding a 2-under 282 to finish at 3-under (849) for the event.
The Lancers slid back two spots in the final day of competition from T4 to 6th. Eeli Kujanpaa finished the tournament in the red at 1-under par (213) after finishing the final round with a +2 73. James Mackie turned in the best final round of the bunch, finishing with a 1-over par 72 to come in at T15.
John Hayes (7-over, 220) and Sean Cithertlet (8-over, 221) finished T34 and T39, respectively, with Luke Bartram finishing T67 (17-over, 230) as the final scoring Lancer golfer. Sam Jenkins finished his individual tournament in 45th place with a final tally of 9-over (222).
The final tournament of the regular season will take place next week in Provo, Utah, as the men compete in the Cougar Classic hosted by BYU, April 21-22.
