
Lancers Open Final Regular Season Tournament In Provo

PROVO, UTAH – California Baptist University men's golf wrapped the first two rounds of the PING Cougar Classic with a cumulative team score of 13-over (589), placing them in 16th place after Friday's action. Host BYU has dominated their home course to the tune of a 36-hole score of 33-under (543), lapping even their closest competition, Utah Valley, who closed off the opening day with a total 15-under par (561).
Luke Bartram carded the Lancers' only under-par round of the day, shooting a 1-under 71 in the opening round. He finished the day in a tie for 60th at 5-over. James Mackie had the best two-round outing of the bunch, shooting an even 72 and 2-over 74 to lead all CBU competitors in T51. John Hayes (+3, 147) and Eeli Kujanpaa (+4, 148) finished Friday placed T58 and T65, respectively. Finally, Sean Citherlet rounds out the Lancer squad in 90th with a day one score of 11-over (155).
The 58th PING Cougar Classic will culminate on Saturday with CBU players teeing off alongside UC San Diego, Utah Tech, and UC Santa Barbara group opponents in the 8:10 – 8:50 a.m. Pacific time range.
