CBU Track Preps for Fifth-Straight WAC Championships in Nacogdoches

NACOGDOCHES--- With the final meet wrapping up at the Steve Scott Invitational, the California Baptist University track team is headed to Nacogdoches to compete in the program's fifth straight WAC Championships.
CBU will compete in nine events over the three-day tournament, including the Women's 800M, Men and Women's 1500M, Men and Women's 1500M, Men and Women's 10000M, and Men and Women's 3000M Steeplechase. The Lancers will feature 28 athletes across the events and compete for the right to run at the program's first trip to the NCAA Division I West Regionals in Sacramento.
At last year's championships, the Lancers finished with 26 All-WAC finishers with four individual champions. One of the champions was Greta Karinauskaite, who won the women's 3000M steeplechase crown with a time of 9:58.41. Karinauskaite is the lone returning defending champion and will compete again in the steeplechase.
Valentin Soca, Yasna Petrova, and Karinauskaite set new program records this season in the 5000M, 10000M, and women's steeplechase, respectively, and will compete in those races.

Event Details:
The championships will take place on the campus of Stephen F. Austin in Nacogdoches, TX, from Thursday, May 11th to Saturday, May 13th.
Ticket prices for the 2022 WAC Outdoor Track and Field Championships are as follows:
Daily Passes (Friday and Saturday)
Adults: $12
Youth (17 & under) or Seniors (55 or older): $10
WAC students with ID and children ages five and under will gain free admission
Combined Events and 10,000 Meters (Thursday)
All spectators will be granted free admission
