
Lancers Finish in Top-10 in Texas

SUGAR LAND, TX--- The California Baptist men's golf team traveled to Texas to compete in the Husky Invitational hosted by Houston Christian to close out their fall slate. The Lancers tied for seventh of 12 programs, with junior transfer Bryden Brown ending in 20th for the highest finish on CBU's side.
Jared Abercrombie kicked off the tournament low for California Baptist, shooting 2-under par to lead the Lancers through the first round. Brown followed suit with a final score of 71 for round one. The second set of 18 holes was another low round for Brown, who went even with par. Derek Lekkerkerk carded his lowest round of the day during the second round after going 1-over par. Lekkerkerk ended the Husky Invitational in 36th, while Abercrombie finished in 25th. Sean Citherlet ended his week in Texas in 39th, with his best round coming during the second after going 2-over par.
The Lancers finish their fall schedule with a pair of top-ten finishes and will now gear up to face their championship season, starting at the Vaqueros Intercollegiate hosted by UTRGV in early February.
