
CBU Finishes in Third to Round Out the Regular Season

DAVIS, CA--- The California Baptist men's golf team finished their weekend at the El Macero Classic in third place for the program's final regular season event of the year. Eeli Kujanpää had the highest placement for the Lancers, carding a third-place finish.
Sean Citherlet had a solid start for the Lancers and shot even with par through the first round of play, helping CBU to a second-place team finish on day one. Kujanpaa finished 1-over par for the team's lowest score in the second round, but the third day of the El Macero Classic was where the Lancers shined with three Lancers scoring under par. Kujanpaa had the best round of the weekend on Sunday afternoon after finishing 4-under par to secure seventh place out of 104 golfers. Fred Tindale ended in ninth place after a third-day score of 2-under par, while Citherlet tied for 25th with a tournament score of 224. Luke Bartram finished in 36th and Kurtis Rodriguez rounded out CBU's standings tied for 79th.
The solid weekend in Davis, California will be a confidence boost for the Lancers heading into the Western Athletic Conference Tournament. Head Coach TL Brown's team now holds four top-five finishes this season with the last pair coming at the squad's last two tournaments. The WAC Tournament begins on April 26th in Payson, Arizona.
