CBU Falls to #1 UCLA in Westwood

The Lancers started the first quarter strong and netted three goals to UCLA's five, keeping the home team within reach. The Bruins pulled away in the second quarter, and headed into halftime ahead by eight goals with a convincing 14-6 lead. California Baptist would continue to chip at the Bruins lead, but were unable to overcome the deficit after being held to no goals in the third quarter and finding the back of the net just twice in the fourth.
Trent De Leuuw was solid between the pipes during the third and fourth quarter, limiting UCLA to five goals. Toring Stanley and Logan Puhl picked up a pair of goals, while four other Lancers earned a lone goal throughout the match.
California Baptist will now turn it attention to a pair of games on Sunday against the University of La Verne and Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, a pair of Division III ranked teams.
