RIVERSIDE --- For the fifth time in the 2025 season, the Lancers are being recognized by the Western Athletic Conference (WAC), as sophomore Tizian Marth was announced the WAC Player of the Week. The weekly award comes after a brace on Saturday, part of a four-goal outburst by the Lancers against Utah Valley.
Marth joins teammates Blake D'Agostino, Hugo Do Rego, Liam Jones, and William Lawson to be recognized with WAC weekly honors this season.
The sophomore out of Neufeld, Austria, has been heating up as of late, producing a point in three of CBU's four conference matches. Marth recorded an assist on CBU's lone goal in their 3-1 loss to San Jose State, and then he added his second assist of the season on Lawson's game-winning goal vs. Grand Canyon.
On Saturday, Marth earned his first start since opening day and matched his season high of 54 minutes. Marth netted the Lancers' first goal of the night in the 13th minute, and then he added an insurance tally in the 83rd, giving him his first collegiate goals and his first collegiate brace.
Saturday's victory, the Lancers' second in a row, placed CBU in a four-way tie for first place in the WAC at 2-1-1. Grand Canyon, San Diego State, and Utah Tech also sit 2-1-1 through four conference matches.
A leap up in the RPI for the Lancers was paired with Saturday's victory. CBU jumped 18 spots, moving from No. 46 to No. 28. Grand Canyon is next from the WAC in the RPI, coming in at No. 41.
Three matches remain in the regular season, as the Lancers gear up for a fight to claim the WAC regular season championship, as two of those matchups come against teams deadlocked in the aforementioned first-place tie.
First, there will be a trip to Colorado for the Lancers to take on Air Force on Thursday evening. CBU will return to Riverside for Senior Night against Utah Tech over the weekend. The season will conclude next week when the Lancers travel south to face San Diego State.
Thursday's match with the Falcons is scheduled for 5 p.m. (PST). Tickets for Sunday's Senior Night contest are on sale HERE.
