CBU Completes a Perfect Weekend in Northern California

SANTA CLARA, CA --- The California Baptist men's water polo team pulled out yet another perfect day at the pool after taking down both Fresno Pacific and Bucknell on Saturday. The Lancers improved their win streak to 11 and are now 21-7 overall this season.
Kicking off the day with a decisive victory, CBU defeated the Fresno Pacific Sunbirds 17-9 with fierce offense through the bookend quarters. The Lancers opened the match with an explosive first period with four goals, including two from Alex Righetti. The Lancers quickly established their dominance, leading 4-0 before Fresno Pacific could find the net.
Fresno Pacific responded in the second period and managed to score three goals, but it was not enough to overcome Kevin Rosa's attack, which led by five at the half. The third period saw both teams exchanging goals, with Fresno Pacific scoring two while the Lancers added three more. In the final period, California Baptist continued their offensive surge, netting six goals for the comfortable 17-9 victory.
During the second match of the day, California Baptist University secured an impressive 18-11 victory over Bucknell University. CBU opened the game effectively, scoring six goals in the first quarter alone, powered by Righetti and Andrea Nuzzo.
As the game progressed, CBU maintained its momentum, with a balanced scoring attack that saw multiple players contributing. Righetti and Nuzzo each finished with three goals, while Aidan Olson and Rafa Martinez added two goals apiece, helping the Lancers stay ahead throughout the match..
Ultimately, California Baptist's offense proved too much for the Bison, as they outscored Bucknell in every quarter.
The Lancers will now return to West Coast Conference play as they play Loyola Marymount next week.
