CBU Cards a Top-Five Finish in Northern California

EL MACERO, CA--- The California Baptist men's golf team carded its second-best finish this weekend at the El Macero Classic hosted by UC Davis after posting a fifth-place finish of 17 programs. The solid finish in Northern California marks the squad's second top-five finish this season and should give the Lancers a boost of confidence before heading to the Western Athletic Conference Tournament next week.
Both Jared Abercrombie and Sean Citherlet both tallied the best finishes for the Lancers this weekend, ending tied for 12th of 92 golfers. Citherlet posted two very good rounds during the first and second after shooting 72 and 70, respectively. Abercombie ended his time in NorCal with a very consistent outing, which was highlighted by a 71 on the tournament's final day, to secure a top-15 placement. Eeli Kujanpää ended the weekend in 26th after posting a tournament total of 222, while Lorenzo Lombardozzi finished in 44th with his lowest round coming on the first day with a 73. Bryden Brown rounded out the weekend for the Lancers with a 71st finish.
California Baptist will now begin preparing for the WAC Tournament in Payson, Arizona, from April 25-27th.
