RIVERSIDE – Senior forward/midfielder Anja Jestrovic put together a four-goal week to earn Big West Offensive Player of the Week honors for the first time in her career.
Jestrovic recorded a brace in each game, helping the Lancers to a 4-2 win at Sacramento State on Oct. 28 and a 3-3 draw at Cal State Fullerton on Oct. 31. She now ranks fifth in the Big West with seven goals this season and leads the Lancers in scoring.
Her two goals in each game tied her career high for goals and points (four) in a single contest. Against the Hornets, Jestrovic opened the scoring with a goal from outside the box before converting a penalty kick in the second half to help secure the victory.
Against the Titans, Jestrovic scored both goals from outside the box, including a beautiful free kick into the top corner that helped the Lancers earn the 3-3 draw.
Jestrovic now has 15 goals and 14 assists in her two seasons in Riverside. Her 14 career assists are one shy of tying the program's single-season record of 15, set by Yvette Vascones in 1999.
Jestrovic will lead the Lancers into their first Big West postseason game Wednesday night at CBU Soccer Stadium, as CBU hosts No. 5 seed Cal Poly in a quarterfinal matchup at 7 p.m. Tickets are available at cbulancers.com.
