THIS YEAR: Junior reliever Chilly Ronquillo was the Lancers’ top reliever coming out of the fall ... Has a live arm and throws hard ... Has outstanding off speed stuff ... Will likely serve as the set up man working the seventh and eighth innings, but could also close at times ... Has a three-pitch mix and possesses a legitimate strikeout pitch ... As a former infielder, fields the position well.
2007: Appeared in 20 games, all in relief after moving to the bullpen in 2007 ... Was 0-2 with four saves and a 4.84 ERA ... Tossed 22.1 innings, allowing 20 hits and 12 earned runs while striking out 24 ... Picked up saves in the first three games of the year, working a combined three scoreless innings, striking out seven of the nine outs ... Struck out the side three separate occasions ... Worked a season-high three innings, giving up two earned runs and striking out two at eventual national champion Lewis-Clark State (Idaho) ... Worked 2.1 scoreless innings against Biola.
2006: Redshirted the 2006 season.
2005: Appeared in 46 of the Lancers’ 50 games, starting 41 of them as a freshman ... Hit .243 (35-for-144) with 12 runs, 11 RBIs and eight doubles ... Also drew 13 walks and had three stolen bases ... Had six multi-hit games, including a pair of three-hit games against Grand Canyon (Ariz.) and Concordia ... Was 3-for-4 with two doubles against Grand Canyon.
HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped four varsity seasons at nearby Rubidoux High, graduating in 2004 ... Was a two-time All-Sunkist League selection, earning All-Riverside County honors as a 2004 senior ... Hit .540 with five home runs and was also 6-1 on the mound.
