
HARTSOCK EARNS FIRST PROFESSIONAL WIN

The 2006 Golden State Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Year tossed 3.2 innings of scoreless relief to pick up his first win on June 21for the Idaho Falls Chukars, the rookie-ball affiliate of the Kansas City Royals.
Hartsock, who was picked in the 23rd round of the Major League Baseball Amateur Draft earlier in the month, allowed just a hit and a walk while striking out 4 to notch the win over the Casper (WY)
In 2006, his senior year at California Baptist, Hartsock went 10-4 with a 3.40 ERA while striking out a conference-high 110 batters and issuing only 28 free passes in 98 frames.
Meanwhile, Josh Banda, an All-GSAC selection at catcher in 2006, is 3-for-12 with a home run and 3 RBI in 3 games for the Tri-City (WA) Dust Devils, a class-A affiliate for the Colorado Rockies.
After playing behind the plate at the collegiate level, Banda, a 35th-round pick, has seen playing time in the outfield at Tri-City.
