The 2-time All-GSAC senior continued her impressive start to her final season, scoring both goals Saturday to lift the NAIA's No. 23-ranked California Baptist to a 2-0 road win over Dominican.
The Lancers improve to 2-0 with the win.
Stamper, who battled through injuries all of last year only scoring one goal, has quickly returned to form at the outset of 2006. She netted her 27th and 28th career goals to move into seventh place on the Lancers' career goal scoring list.
In the 30th minute, Jacalyn van den Raadt forced a turnover and knocked the ball down the sideline to Joanna Idom, who sent a cross into the box. Stamper ran onto the cross, beat a defender and promptly tucked away the game's first goal for a 1-0 lead that the Lancers carried into the locker room.
Then, in the 84th minute, Stamper scored an insurance goal when Jaimee Myers sent a cross into the box to Stamper, whose shot deflected off a defender and into the goal. The Lancer defense locked down the Penguins throughout much of the game and held them to just one shot on goal in the second half.
