The win moves the Lancers to 5-1 on the year, while
The Lancers' 3 goals matches their season-high so far. They defeated Cal Poly Pomona by the same score back on Sept. 1. Joanna Idom, who scored all 3 goals in that game, put in 2 more today.
In the 22nd minute, Idom gave the Lancers a 1-0 lead with an unassisted goal. That score stood through the intermission until Lindsey Merrett scored her first goal of the season just 2 minutes into the second half to make it 2-0.
Then, just 7 minutes later, Idom put the icing on the cake with her team-leading fifth goal of the season to account for the final score. Sarai Stamper picked up the assist on each of the final 2 goals. Stamper ranks eighth on the Lancers' career scoring chart, now with 70 points, needing 15 more to move into seventh and 16 more to move into sixth.
Sophomore All-GSAC Heather Andrews combined with freshman Ashley Aranda, who was making her collegiate debut, to post the Lancers' fifth shutout of the season. All 5 of their wins this year have been shutouts.
